Construction has commenced on Anaheim’s latest fire station, Fire Station 12, marking the city’s first facility in the rapidly developing area around Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Located at 1822 S. State College Boulevard, the station is set to open in mid-2026.

The new station will consist of a main building measuring 10,400 square feet and an additional structure of 2,195 square feet designated for ambulances and other equipment. The project is estimated to cost between $13 million and $15 million, with AWI Builders Inc. from Pico Rivera handling the construction.

Fire Station 12 aims to significantly reduce medical and fire response times in the area by half or more. Currently, the nearest stations are approximately two miles away at State College Boulevard and Ball Road, as well as in The Anaheim Resort.

The Platinum Triangle, where the new station is being built, has been evolving since the 2000s from an industrial zone into an urban village centered around sports, entertainment, and transit facilities. It houses notable venues such as Angel Stadium, Honda Center, City National Grove of Anaheim, ARTIC along with various apartments, offices, and businesses.

The OCVibe project around Honda Center is part of this transformation with plans for hotels, music venues, restaurants, shopping areas, homes, offices, and open spaces underway.

Mayor Ashleigh Aitken remarked on the development: “Nearly 10,000 Anaheim residents now call the Platinum Triangle home with thousands more to come in the years ahead,” adding that “Station 12 will bring reassurance for everyone in the Platinum Triangle.”

This initiative marks Anaheim’s first new fire station since Fire Station 5 opened in 2018 along La Palma Avenue. The city’s fire department remains Orange County’s largest municipal fire service provider with over 200 firefighters and paramedics supported by more than 50 engines and vehicles.
