The Anaheim Ducks have announced the return of their collaboration with Vans, featuring custom-designed sneakers by Hockey Hall of Famer Teemu Selanne. The latest edition of the Ducks x Vans partnership will offer two limited-edition sneaker designs, which will be available exclusively at Honda Center on Sunday, February 1, when the Ducks face off against the Vegas Golden Knights. The event is presented by Chick-fil-A.

This collection includes a shoe designed by Selanne and a Ducks-themed version of Vans’ checkerboard slip-on to mark Vans’ 60th anniversary. Sales for these limited-edition shoes will begin at 3 p.m. at the North Entrance, and only those with valid tickets to the February 1 game can purchase them.

Fans who buy a special ticket pack through a designated link can receive a limited-edition Selanne Bobbleshoe. Additionally, the first 5,000 attendees will get a Fingerboard giveaway from DigAlert. Other exclusive merchandise such as Ducks x Vans sweatshirts created by Violent Gentlemen Hockey Club and other specialty items will also be available.

Vans ambassador Steve Van Doren and several well-known Vans athletes and skaters are scheduled to attend on February 1 to sign autographs and meet fans during the first intermission near Section 205. Athletes expected include Tony Alva, Ray Barbee, Perris Benegas, Steve Caballero, Omar Hassan, Christian Hosoi, Dakota Roche and Geoff Rowley.

The Anaheim Ducks remain the only professional sports franchise to collaborate with Vans. Their initial partnership in 2023-24 celebrated both organizations’ anniversaries with three pairs of themed shoes that sold out before game time and led to an online sale totaling 10,000 pairs. That campaign earned them their first Stanley Award for NHL Marketing Campaign of the Year. Last season’s collaboration featured sneakers designed by Leo Carlsson and Lukas Dostal.

Selanne holds multiple records for the Ducks including most goals scored (457) and was the first player in team history to have his number retired at Honda Center in January 2015. He played a key role in leading Anaheim to its first Stanley Cup win in 2007.

Selanne is also recognized as a ten-time NHL All-Star who ranks twelfth all-time in league goals (684). He set an NHL rookie record with 76 goals during his debut season with Winnipeg in 1992-93. Internationally, he represented Finland in six Olympic Games—earning medals four times—and was named Olympic MVP in 2014 while setting men’s hockey records for career points and appearances.

Vans began as The Van Doren Rubber Company founded by Paul and Jim Van Doren along with Gordon Lee and Serge Delia; it opened its first store on March 16, 1966 at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim. Today it operates more than two thousand retail locations worldwide under VF Corporation (NYSE: VFC).

February 1 will also be Fire & Rescue Appreciation Night at Honda Center honoring local emergency service personnel. An auction benefiting the Fallen Firefighter Relief Fund will run from Sunday evening until later that night; bids can be placed via text or online at Ducks.Givesmart.com.

Additionally, an online auction hosted by Anaheim Ducks Foundation will feature unique memorabilia such as custom Selanne x Vans skates and autographed items starting Thursday afternoon through Friday noon prior to game day—all proceeds supporting community initiatives through the foundation.

Tickets for this event start at $52; further details are available at AnaheimDucks.com/Vans.

“Vans authentic collections are sold in more than 100 countries through a network of subsidiaries, distributors, and international offices,” according to information provided about Vans’ global reach.

“The Vans brand inspires and empowers everyone to live ‘Off the Wall’ embodying the youthful spirit of freedom, non-conformity, and relentless drive to push culture across action sports, music, art and design,” states additional background about company philosophy.

“Teemu ‘The Finnish Flash’ Selanne helped lead Anaheim to California’s first Stanley Cup championship in 2007,” notes historical context regarding Selanne’s impact on both team success and local sports history.
