The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon weekend is scheduled for September 4-7, bringing several running events and related impacts to Anaheim streets. The event includes a half marathon on Sunday, September 7, which will result in limited road closures and rerouted traffic primarily between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. Most streets are expected to reopen around 8 or 9 a.m.

Both the half marathon and the 10K run, which takes place on Saturday, September 6, start early in the morning. The runs will affect major roads such as Harbor Boulevard, Katella Avenue, Ball Road, Anaheim Boulevard, State College Boulevard, and other nearby streets. Businesses and residents will have access during most of the event times but may experience short periods with no access.

“The half marathon goes from The Anaheim Resort to the Platinum Triangle area, spanning neighborhoods and business areas,” according to event organizers.

Residents living just west of Anaheim Boulevard and south of Ball Road can exit via Midway Drive and southbound Anaheim Boulevard toward Interstate 5. However, inbound access to these neighborhoods will be restricted from about 3:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

“For those wanting to cheer on runners, State College, Ball, Cerritos Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard are good options to consider,” organizers stated.

The races are currently sold out for participants. Those seeking more information about the weekend’s events can call (909) 964-8728.

Organizers note that the event occurs at a slower time for visitors—after Labor Day but before the holiday season—and brings guests who stay in hotels and spend money at local businesses. This visitor spending helps fund city services through increased hotel stays and shopping activity.

“Thanks for your patience as we welcome visitors to our city,” said event representatives.
