Beckett Sennecke contributed two assists and scored in the shootout as the Anaheim Ducks secured a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Friday. The victory marks the Ducks’ second consecutive win after they recently ended a nine-game losing streak with a 3-1 result against the Dallas Stars.
Tim Washe, appearing in his sixth NHL game, scored his first career goal for Anaheim. Ryan Strome also found the net, while Lukas Dostal recorded 26 saves. The Ducks now hold a record of 23-21-3.
For the Kings, Joel Armia returned from an upper-body injury that kept him out for five games, tallying both a goal and an assist. Darcy Kuemper made 26 saves in net for Los Angeles, which has now lost three straight games and five of their last six.
The Kings opened scoring early when Quinton Byfield converted on a 3-on-1 rush just under two minutes into play. Armia extended their lead midway through the second period before Strome answered less than a minute later for Anaheim. Washe tied the game late in the second period by capitalizing on a rebound off the end boards.
The teams are set to complete their home-and-home series Saturday in Anaheim.
