The Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender Ville Husso from the San Diego Gulls, their main development team in the American Hockey League (AHL), on an emergency basis.
Husso, 30, has played nine games for Anaheim this season, recording a 5-3-1 record with a 3.25 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage. He achieved a three-game winning streak from December 5 to December 9 and appeared in eight consecutive games between November 28 and December 11, surpassing his previous career best for consecutive appearances.
In his NHL career, Husso has played in 154 games (146 starts) with teams including Anaheim, Detroit Red Wings, and St. Louis Blues. His overall record stands at 76 wins, 49 losses, and 20 overtime or shootout losses. He signed a two-year contract extension with Anaheim on June 29, 2025.
This season in the AHL with San Diego, Husso has posted an 8-6-3 record with three shutouts over 17 games. Since being acquired from Detroit on February 24, 2025, he has made a total of 26 appearances for San Diego. Over his AHL career spanning several teams—San Diego Gulls, Grand Rapids Griffins, San Antonio Rampage, and Chicago Wolves—he holds a record of 74 wins, 66 losses, and 19 overtime or shootout losses across 169 games.
