The Anaheim Ducks announced on March 26 that they have recalled center Nathan Gaucher from the San Diego Gulls, their primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Gaucher, age 22, has played in 57 games with San Diego this season and recorded 26 points. He achieved career highs in both points and goals for the season. Notably, he scored his first career hat trick on March 22 against the Calgary Wranglers and earned 18 points over his last 21 games with the Gulls. Over his AHL career with San Diego, Gaucher has played in 185 games and tallied a total of 70 points.
Anaheim selected Gaucher as their first-round pick (22nd overall) in the 2022 National Hockey League Draft. During his junior hockey career, he helped lead the Quebec Remparts to both Memorial Cup and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League championships during the 2022-23 season. He was also recognized as QMJHL’s Best Defensive Forward by winning the Guy Carbonneau Trophy and became the first player to earn that honor along with the Mike Bossy Trophy for Best Professional Prospect in consecutive seasons.
Gaucher represented Canada at two World Junior Championships, helping secure gold medals for his team in both tournaments held in consecutive years. His brother Jacob is part of the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
