The Anaheim Ducks have recalled center Tim Washe from the San Diego Gulls, their primary American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. The move comes as goaltender Petr Mrazek is placed on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury.
Washe, 24, made his NHL debut for Anaheim on April 15, 2025, in Minnesota and appeared in two games during the 2024-25 season after signing a one-year entry-level contract following his collegiate career. At the time of his recall, he led San Diego in goals with 13, was tied for the team lead in points with 25 (13 goals and 12 assists), and ranked fourth in both assists and plus/minus (+7) over 30 AHL games. He signed a two-year contract extension with Anaheim on August 4, 2025. Among all AHL rookies, Washe was tied for second in goals and third in points.
During his college career at Western Michigan University (NCHC), Washe captained the team to its first national championship in the 2024-25 season. He recorded two assists in the championship game and finished that season with 38 points (16 goals and 22 assists) and a +22 rating. He led the Broncos with eight game-winning goals—a single-season program record—and was second on the team in total points. Nationally, he led all NCAA players in faceoff win percentage at 63.1% (483-of-766) and ranked third overall in faceoff wins. Washe was named NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year.
Over five seasons at Western Michigan from 2020 to 2025, Washe played a program-record 171 games, tallying 74 points (28 goals and 46 assists), a +19 rating, and accumulating 125 penalty minutes. He led the NCHC in faceoff win percentage for three consecutive seasons: posting rates of 63.1% (2024-25), 60.0% (2023-24), and 61.4% (2022-23). Academically, he was recognized as an NCHC Distinguished Scholar Athlete each year from 2023 to 2025 and made the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 season.
