The Anaheim Ducks secured a 6-5 overtime victory against the Buffalo Sabres at Honda Center on March 23, with Troy Terry scoring the decisive goal at 1:29 of overtime.
Terry intercepted a turnover by Tage Thompson at center ice and scored on a backhand shot over Buffalo goalie Alex Lyon, clinching the win for Anaheim. The Ducks’ offense was led by Terry, who scored twice, while Chris Kreider, Jackson LaCombe, and Beckett Sennecke each contributed a goal and an assist. Leo Carlsson added two assists, and Ville Husso made 24 saves as Anaheim extended its point streak to four games (3-0-1).
For Buffalo, Owen Power and Zach Benson both recorded a goal and an assist. Rasmus Dahlin provided two assists, while Lyon stopped 27 shots. The Sabres managed to rally from a two-goal deficit in the third period to extend their own point streak to five games (4-0-1).
The game saw several lead changes. The Sabres took an early advantage with Alex Tuch’s opening goal before Anaheim responded with power-play goals from Kreider and LaCombe. After trading goals throughout regulation—including Benson giving Buffalo its first third-period lead—Mikael Granlund tied it late for Anaheim during a two-man advantage.
Anaheim was outshot in the second period but managed to regain momentum in overtime thanks to Terry’s efforts. Both teams continue their respective point streaks as they approach the final stretch of the season.
