Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jackson LaCombe has been selected for Team USA’s roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina. LaCombe, who is 25 years old, will be participating in his first Olympic Winter Games and marks his fourth appearance representing the United States internationally. He is noted as the third-youngest defenseman on Team USA’s roster and the fifth-youngest player overall for this year’s Winter Olympics.
LaCombe joins a list of Ducks players who have represented Team USA at previous Olympics, including Cam Fowler (2014), Ryan Whitney (2010), Troy Terry (2018), Bobby Ryan (2010), and Guy Hebert (1998). In addition to LaCombe, five other Anaheim players will participate in the February games: goaltender Lukas Dostal and defenseman Radko Gudas for Czechia, center Leo Carlsson for Sweden, forward Mikael Granlund for Finland, and goaltender prospect Damian Clara for Italy.
A native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, LaCombe played a key role in helping Team USA secure gold medals at both the 2025 World Championship—where he contributed five points and had a +11 rating—and at the 2021 World Junior Championship. He also competed in the 2018 U-18 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
This season with Anaheim, LaCombe has recorded six goals and 25 assists over 49 games. He leads all Ducks defensemen in points, assists, and average time on ice per game. Across his NHL career so far—all with Anaheim—he has tallied 22 goals and 69 assists over 197 games.
LaCombe signed an eight-year contract extension with Anaheim through the 2033-34 NHL season on October 2, 2025. Previously drafted by Anaheim in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, he played college hockey at the University of Minnesota from 2019 to 2023.
The Milano Cortina Olympic hockey tournament will run from February 11 to February 22. Twelve teams are scheduled to compete; each team will play three preliminary games within their groups before entering elimination rounds leading up to the gold medal match on February 22. Team USA’s opening game is set against Latvia on February 12 at 9:10 p.m. local time/12:10 p.m. Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast live on USA Network and streamed via Peacock.
