Ian Moore scored the winning goal late in the third period, helping the Anaheim Ducks secure a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins at Honda Center on Wednesday.
Jansen Harkins, Radko Gudas, and Ryan Strome also contributed goals for Anaheim. Mason McTavish provided two assists, while Lukas Dostal stopped 36 shots. The Ducks now have a home winning streak of six games and hold a record of 13-6-1.
For Boston, Morgan Geekie scored twice and Michael Eyssimont added another goal. Hampus Lindholm had two assists, and Joonas Korpisalo made 29 saves. The Bruins have lost three of their last four games after previously winning seven straight.
Moore’s decisive goal came with just over three minutes left in regulation. He took a one-timer from the high slot to give Anaheim a 4-3 lead after they had earlier let a two-goal advantage slip away.
Anaheim opened scoring early in the first period when Ross Johnston centered the puck from near the goal line. The pass deflected off Korpisalo’s stick to Harkins, who managed to score despite close defense from Lindholm.
Gudas increased Anaheim’s lead to 2-0 midway through the first period with his first goal of the season—a slap shot that deflected off Boston forward Fraser Minten’s skate and into the net.
Boston got on the board during a power play when Geekie redirected a point shot in front of Dostal. Defenseman Jackson LaCombe tried to clear it but inadvertently knocked it across the line, making it 2-1 late in the first period.
The Ducks thought they had another goal before Strome eventually scored his first of the season on a power-play deflection with just two seconds remaining on an advantage, extending Anaheim’s lead to 3-1 in the second period.
Eyssimont narrowed Boston’s deficit late in the second by scoring short side with a wrist shot from inside the right circle.
Geekie tied things up early in the third period by tipping in another power-play opportunity just seven seconds into Boston’s man advantage.
The game remained tied until Moore delivered his game-winning shot for Anaheim with less than four minutes remaining.
