Congresswoman Young Kim delivered remarks on Apr. 28 during a House Financial Services Committee hearing titled “Prioritizing Main Street: Evaluating the Impact of Capital Proposals on Economic Growth and American Communities.”
The topic of the hearing focused on how recent capital proposals affect economic growth and access to credit for small businesses and working families. As a member of the committee, Kim addressed differences between regulatory approaches under different administrations.
Kim said that the Trump administration’s revised proposal would be “a significant improvement upon the Biden-Harris era proposed rule that restricted access to capital for small businesses and working families.” She also reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Main Street businesses and ensuring communities have needed resources, saying she is dedicated to fighting for credit availability.
Young Kim is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing California’s 40th district after replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021, according to official records.
