Beckett Sennecke scored his first NHL hat trick in overtime to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday. The win marked the seventh consecutive victory for the Ducks.

Sennecke’s game-winning goal came at 2:54 of overtime when he finished a 2-on-1 rush with a shot over Calgary goaltender Dustin Wolf’s glove from the right circle. The goal was Sennecke’s 18th of the season, which leads all NHL rookies.

Chris Kreider tied the game for Anaheim in the third period. Mikael Granlund and Alex Killorn each contributed two assists, while Lukas Dostal made 34 saves for the Ducks, who are now 28-21-3 and played the first game of a back-to-back set.

For Calgary, Hunter Brzustewicz scored his first NHL goal. Matt Coronato added a goal and an assist, and Wolf stopped 17 shots. The Flames have gone winless in their last four home games (0-2-2), bringing their record to 21-25-6.

The scoring began when Jonathan Huberdeau gave Calgary a 1-0 lead early in the first period after Mikael Backlund’s drive to the net led to a rebound that deflected off Anaheim defenseman Jackson LaCombe into the net. Brzustewicz extended Calgary’s lead less than two minutes later with a pass attempt that redirected off LaCombe’s stick into Anaheim’s net.

Anaheim responded in the second period as Sennecke scored twice—first by converting a backhand feed from Killorn, then tying it with a backdoor pass from Granlund during a 3-on-2 rush.

Coronato restored Calgary’s lead early in the third period with a power-play goal before Kreider equalized for Anaheim later in the frame on another odd-man rush.

The Ducks will continue their road trip as they look to extend their winning streak.
