The St. Louis Blues defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-0 at Honda Center on Mar. 9, marking their fourth consecutive win and a season-high streak.
The result is significant as it extends the Blues’ winning run and marks the first time since the 2023-24 season that they have swept a road trip of four games or more.
Joel Hofer made 22 saves for St. Louis, earning his fifth shutout in his past 26 starts. Jimmy Snuggerud contributed a goal and an assist, while Jonathan Drouin scored in his debut game for the Blues after being acquired from the New York Islanders along with goalie Marcus Gidlof and two draft picks in exchange for Brayden Schenn. Ville Husso stopped 31 shots for Anaheim, which had previously won seven of its last eight games during a nine-game homestand.
After a scoreless opening period, Jordan Kyrou opened scoring for St. Louis early in the second with a snap shot over Husso’s blocker following a three-on-one breakaway. Drouin added to the lead with a power-play goal set up by Philip Broberg, and Snuggerud made it 3-0 midway through the period off an assist from Robert Thomas. Although Snuggerud appeared to score again in the third period, Anaheim successfully challenged for offside.
Pius Suter sealed the victory with an empty-net goal late in regulation, finalizing the score at 4-0.
