Center Greens Park opened in downtown Anaheim on Saturday, transforming a grassy, informal space into a new park with a skate park, walking paths, and a butterfly garden.

The 3.5-acre park offers amenities for people of all ages and abilities.

“Center Greens reminds us that investing in green spaces is investing in our shared well-being,” Mayor Ashleigh Aitken said. “This park is our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all our residents and visitors.”

The $6.5 million improvements include an 8,000-square-foot skate park replacing a former ramp on the site, a youth challenge course, tot lot, upgraded basketball courts, butterfly garden, landscaping, fitness trail, and shaded plaza.

These features build on the first phase of enhancing Center Greens. In 2022, a 4,300-square-foot playground was built with help from the Anaheim Ducks and Kaboom!

The playground includes a climbing wall, bridge, monkey bars, circular spider web climber, spinners, bucket swings, companion swing, zip line, teeter-totter game and musical panels.

“This park is part of what it means to be part of our downtown and historic city center,” Council Member Natalie Rubalcava said. “I welcome and join with our community in working together to ensure this park is an enjoyable space for all.”

For those who live or work in downtown Anaheim or visit the area’s attractions like the Anaheim Packing House or Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center, Center Greens will be another point of interest.

The improvements aim to promote play and wellness within the community.
