An event long cherished by the Anaheim community, the annual Black History Parade & Unity Festival will return to downtown Anaheim on Saturday, February 1. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the celebration.
Organized by the Orange County Heritage Council, this event is part of Black History Month celebrations and acknowledges the contributions of African Americans to Anaheim, the region, and the nation.
The festivities will include community marching bands, dancers, parade vehicles, music, food, and more. The parade will commence at 10 a.m., followed by the Unity Festival at noon. The event is free to attend, with food and crafts available for purchase.
Parking is accessible in structures around City Hall; however, there may be some disruptions due to closures on Broadway. An alternative parking option is available at the red brick structure along East Center Street.
For those not attending, it is advisable to avoid downtown Anaheim on February 1 for convenience.
