UC Santa Barbara narrowly lost 5-4 to UC Davis in their NCAA Division I baseball game at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 14. AJ Krodel, a former Villa Park High School standout, currently plays for the Gauchos.
The contest was held at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium and marked their second meeting of the season. The teams previously faced off on Friday, March 13, when the Gauchos secured a 4-0 victory.
Krodel pitched 1.1 innings, surrendering one earned run, walking two batters and notching two strikeouts.
The Gauchos are set to take on UC Davis again at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium.
