Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared her positions on affordability, border security, and antisemitism in a series of tweets.
On January 12, 2026, Kim emphasized the importance of economic relief for families. She stated, “Affordability is freedom—the freedom to work hard, save, & raise a family without Washington driving up costs. I supported the Working Families Tax Cut to put more money back in families’ pockets & I will keep fighting to deliver affordability families can feel in their everyday”.
Later that day, she addressed border security and law enforcement. On January 12, 2026, Kim wrote: “Families, small businesses, & neighborhoods thrive when borders are secure & laws are enforced. I’ll keep fighting with @POTUS to prevent chaos at the border, & once & for all restore the rule of law.”
In another tweet posted on January 13, 2026, Kim condemned an act of violence against the Jewish community: “Setting fire to a synagogue to target the Jewish community is disturbing and has no place in our nation. We must root out antisemitism wherever it appears.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
