Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, shared several posts on October 13, 2025, addressing issues ranging from agriculture and international affairs to commemorative observances.
In a post celebrating National Farmers Day, Kim highlighted the significance of agriculture in California. On October 13, she wrote, “Over 420,000 Californians work in agriculture — feeding our nation & powering our economy. This National Farmers Day, I’ll keep fighting to protect farmland and keep American agriculture strong for the next generation.”
Later the same day, Kim addressed the release of hostages following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. In her message, she stated, “Today is a historic day. Over 2 years since Hamas’s brutal Oct 7 attack, all remaining living hostages are finally home safe. Our prayers have been answered. Thank you @POTUS for your tireless efforts to bring these hostages home. May this moment pave the way for lasting peace”
Kim also marked Columbus Day with a brief commemoration. On October 13, she posted, “Today we commemorate the spirit of discovery & the journey that changed the world. Happy Columbus Day!”
Young Kim has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021, after replacing Gil Cisneros. She previously represented her community in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, Kim is now 60 years old and resides in La Habra. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
