Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, has recently addressed several issues through her social media platform. In a series of tweets, she highlighted actions taken in various areas, including animal welfare, religious tolerance, and tax policy endorsements.

On June 2, 2025, Young Kim expressed gratitude towards the Secretary of the Navy for taking steps to halt animal testing on cats and dogs. She acknowledged her collaboration with White Coat Waste to expose these practices and emphasized the importance of saving taxpayer dollars. “Great news! Thank you to @SECNAV for taking action to STOP cruel animal testing on cats & dogs. I’ve been working with @WhiteCoatWaste to expose this inhumane treatment of animals & save taxpayer dollars.”

Later that day, Kim took a firm stance against antisemitism and violence targeting religious groups in the United States. Her tweet underscored her position that such acts have no place in the country. “Antisemitism and violence targeting religious groups have NO place in the United States of America, period.”

On June 3, 2025, Kim shared an endorsement from the International Association of Fire Fighters regarding recent tax cuts. The organization praised specific elements such as eliminating taxes on qualified overtime pay and increasing the state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap. “Leadership of the International Association of Fire Fighters, which represents over 350,000 members, endorsed the tax cuts, specifically praising the elimination of taxes on qualified overtime pay and the increase in the state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap.”

Young Kim has been serving California’s 40th District since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, she currently resides in La Habra.
