Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, has recently posted a series of statements on her Twitter account addressing border security, federal fraud, and gas taxes in California.

On June 1, 2026, Kim wrote, “We currently have the most SECURE border in American history. Thanks to @POTUS’s America First leadership: 12 months straight of ZERO releases into the U.S. Apprehensions at the border down 95% from the Biden era Record-low crossings not seen since the 1970s”.

The following day, June 2, she commented on federal spending oversight, “What a slap in the face to American taxpayers. While families work day & night to make ends meet, fraudsters are cashing in on luxury cars & designer goods with federal dollars. This has gone on for far too long. I’m leading the No More SCAMS Act to stop the fraud NOW.”

Later that same day, Kim criticized state tax policy, “ENDLESS gas taxes in CA that go on forever. Only Newsom’s Sacramento would see $6 gas & decide Californians aren’t paying enough. This is making California unaffordable and driving families to leave our state. It needs to stop!”

Kim has represented California’s 40th district since 2021 after defeating Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, she earned her BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
