Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, addressed a range of policy priorities in a series of posts on her social media account between January 10 and January 11, 2026.
On January 10, Kim emphasized the economic challenges facing Californians, stating: “Gas. Groceries. Rent. Californians don’t need excuses—they need relief. That’s why I’m focused on working with @POTUS to lower costs, cut waste, and deliver results for working families.”
Later that day, she highlighted her stance on border security: “Border security is national security. That’s why I worked with President Trump to secure the border and end the Biden border crisis. I will keep fighting to keep our border closed and secure to protect American families.”
On January 11, Kim turned her attention to public safety and law enforcement support: “When law enforcement & our community work together, everyone is safer & crises are resolved faster. I’m fighting to secure critical funding & real support for our men & women in blue—so they can respond faster, act smarter, and keep our families safe.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, Kim holds a BBA from the University of Southern California.
