Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, used her Twitter account on March 19, 2026, to address crime policy, airport operations amid a government shutdown, and legislative efforts targeting fraud by non-citizens.
In her first post of the day, Kim stated: “I have been fighting to crack down on criminals & standing up to Sacramento’s soft on crime policies in our communities. With Congress taking action & @POTUS’s strong commitment to law & order, America is safer than it’s been in generations!” (March 19, 2026).
Later that morning, she criticized congressional Democrats over a government shutdown affecting airport operations: “RECKLESS democrat shutdown is grounding America: small airports face imminent closure while unpaid TSA officers call out sick at over 30% rates in major hubs. This can’t go on. Senate Dems need to fund DHS ASAP!” (March 19, 2026).
In a third tweet posted near midday, Kim referenced legislation targeting non-citizens committing fraud: “Those who come to our country, defraud our government & rip off taxpayers don’t get to stay. Proud to support the Deporting Fraudsters Act to crack down on fraud & hold non-citizens who break our laws accountable. Along with my No More SCAMS Act we are putting criminals &” (March 19, 2026).
Kim has served as the representative for California’s 40th District since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age sixty, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
