Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted on her social media accounts about national security, community remembrance, and a new business opening in Chino Hills.

On August 29, 2025, Kim addressed the importance of domestic critical mineral supply chains. She stated, “Critical minerals power the technologies that run our daily lives & protect our national security. Too much is at stake to rely on the CCP. I sat down with @jamepdx to discuss my work in Congress to secure U.S. supply chains & save our energy future.” This statement highlights her ongoing legislative focus on strengthening U.S. independence from foreign sources of critical materials.

Later that day, Kim paid tribute to a local figure. In a post dated August 29, 2025, she wrote: “Today we remember Richard Reese, the beloved founder & visionary behind Rancho Santa Margarita. Mr. Reese’s legacy continues to bring joy, love of nature, & everyday connections to families & neighbors in our community.”

In another message posted August 29, 2025, Kim welcomed a new local business: “Excited to welcome Toastique to Chino Hills! From smoothie bowls to gourmet toast, this new family-run spot is serving up fresh, feel-good food for our community.”

Kim has represented California’s 40th congressional district since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing in La Habra, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
