Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts on March 22 and 23, 2026, addressing faith, honoring former First Lady Pat Nixon, and calling for reforms in congressional stock trading.

On March 22, Kim shared a biblical passage with her followers: “Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Later that day, she reflected on an event commemorating Pat Nixon’s legacy: “Wonderful reception honoring the late First Lady Pat Nixon, whose legacy continues to leave a mark on our country and community.

Team Young celebrated Mrs. Nixon’s 114th birthday with cake, stories, & support for the causes she cared about most. Grateful for her remarkable life” (March 22).

On March 23, Kim addressed ethics in government by stating: “Politicians shouldn’t be using their position to get rich.

Ban stock trading for members of Congress. Simple as that.”

Kim has served in Congress since defeating Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
