Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted a series of tweets on April 14, 2026, addressing free speech concerns and tax relief for California families.
In her first post, Kim stated: “The First Amendment built America. Stop Sacramento from gutting it.” (April 14, 2026). She followed this with a separate tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/HdA9S7uFIV” (April 14, 2026).
Later that day, Kim announced an increase in the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap: “Big win for California families—I teamed up with @POTUS to QUADRUPLE the SALT deduction:

Young Kim has served in the U.S. Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
