U.S. Congresswoman Young Kim, who represents California’s 40th district, posted a series of updates on March 27, 2026, addressing issues ranging from fraud prevention and water safety to border security.
In her first post at 15:30 UTC, Kim criticized state leadership and announced new legislative action: “California has become the epicenter of fraud, with billions lost to EDD scams, ghost student aid, Medicaid waste, & illegal schemes under Gavin Newsom’s watch. No more. I introduced the No More SCAMS Act to preserve @POTUS’s fraud task force & prevent taxpayers from being ripped”.
Later that day at 17:00 UTC, Kim highlighted efforts to secure clean water for Orange County residents: “Great to meet with @ocwaterdistrict to discuss water supply reliability. Ensuring safe, clean drinking water & reliable supply is essential. I’ve secured funding for PFAS mitigation & infrastructure to protect Orange County families from contamination & keep our groundwater safe”.
At 18:51 UTC on the same day, she condemned violence against an elderly veteran and reiterated support for immigration reform measures: “Disgusted by this horrific attack on an 83-year-old veteran. NO MORE American lives should be lost. That’s why I support the Laken Riley Act—to secure our borders & protect our communities.”
Young Kim has represented California’s 40th District in Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and resides in La Habra. Kim graduated with a BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
