U.S. Congresswoman Young Kim, who represents California’s 40th district, posted a series of statements on March 26, 2026, addressing issues ranging from gas prices in California to women’s sports and international alliances.
In her first post on March 26, Kim highlighted the burden of high fuel costs for Californians: “CA drivers are getting slammed at the pump. Each state has a gas tax, but ours is the highest in the nation at $0.709 per gallon. I’ve repeatedly pressed Newsom on his costly mandates & will keep fighting to make CA affordable again for working families.”
Later that day, Kim commented on recent developments in women’s sports: “Common sense prevails. Men don’t belong in women’s sports. Women deserve fair competition & protected categories in sports. Great to see the IOC finally prioritizing science, safety, & integrity for our female athletes.”
In her final post of the day, Kim thanked President Biden for progress made with Japan: “Thank you @POTUS for advancing the U.S.-Japan alliance & delivering massive wins for American workers! From U.S. defense to AI & critical minerals, this America First deal will strengthen our vital partnership & promote a free & open Indo-Pacific.”
Young Kim has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
