Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, shared insights on several topics through her social media platform. Her posts covered issues such as housing affordability, welcoming constituents to Washington D.C., and Medicaid protection.
On July 9, 2025, Kim expressed concern over the challenges faced by families in owning homes. She stated that homeownership has become “unaffordable & inaccessible for too many hardworking families.” Kim mentioned writing a letter to the Biden administration and acknowledged actions by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) aimed at providing opportunities for credit-invisible Americans to improve their credit and achieve homeownership. “Owning a home has become unaffordable & inaccessible for too many hardworking families.”
Later that day, Young Kim highlighted an engagement with constituents from her district. Her team welcomed the Amini family to her office in Washington D.C., who were visiting from Mission Viejo. Kim extended an invitation to other visitors from California’s 40th district to plan tours of Washington D.C. with assistance from her office. “Team Young was excited to welcome the Amini family in our D.C. office this week “
On July 10, 2025, Young Kim emphasized the importance of securing Medicaid for vulnerable citizens including children, seniors, expectant mothers, and individuals with disabilities through H.R.1 legislation. She underscored that these groups are among those whom Medicaid was originally designed to protect. “We must secure & protect Medicaid for our most vulnerable citizens who truly need it.”
Young Kim has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously held a position in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016.
