U.S. Representative Young Kim, who serves California’s 40th district in Congress, used her social media account on November 5, 2025, to address issues related to Medicaid and energy policy in California.
In a post made at 20:48 UTC, Kim stated, “I will always fight to protect vital Medicaid services for those who truly need it. The One Big Beautiful Bill does exactly that by ensuring resources go towards our most vulnerable communities & protecting the integrity of the program for future generations.” She followed this with a link to an article at 20:49 UTC: “Article: https://t.co/e0iZVz8oS1”.
Later the same day at 23:00 UTC, Kim criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s policies regarding energy costs. She wrote, “Gavin Newsom’s disastrous policies have made it nearly impossible for working families to keep the lights on. Families shouldn’t have to pay for Newsom’s failures. I’m calling on the Governor to end his war on energy & lower costs for everyday Californians.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district since replacing Gil Cisneros in Congress in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016 and holds a BBA from the University of Southern California. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, Kim currently resides in La Habra.
