Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, recently addressed a range of national and local issues through her social media posts.
On April 5, 2026, Kim expressed gratitude for the safety of American service members following a rescue mission. She wrote, “So thankful that all of our service members are back to safety after an extraordinary rescue mission. Thank you @POTUS, @SecWar, Gen. Dan Caine, & our brave servicemembers who never leave an American behind. “
The next day, on April 6, Kim criticized California’s high-speed rail project in a post referencing a recent news segment: “The train to nowhere is a textbook boondoggle. @60Minutes showed the world what Californians have known for years-BILLIONS spent, YEARS of delays, & little to show for it.
Hardworking taxpayers have had enough. It’s time to stop the bleeding & hit the brakes on this ridiculous”
On April 7, Kim commented on legislative efforts and political opposition in Washington: “I have fought tooth & nail to deliver real relief for hardworking Americans—only to be blocked time & again by Washington Democrats.
Now they want credit for the very policies they opposed? The irony is not lost on me…”
Kim succeeded Gil Cisneros as representative of California’s 40th district in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
