Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, has been vocal on several issues through her social media platform. Her recent tweets reflect her stance on international and domestic matters, emphasizing national security and law enforcement.
On June 6, 2025, Young Kim addressed concerns about North Korea’s financial activities in the digital realm. She stated that “Allowing Kim Jong Un’s cronies to steal millions in cryptocurrency to fund the North Korean government’s schemes without consequences is unacceptable.” She advocated for stronger sanctions against North Korea and called for enhanced protections within the digital asset ecosystem to prevent misuse.
In a tweet dated June 8, 2025, Young Kim commented on the situation in Los Angeles. She attributed it to what she described as flawed policies by the Biden-Harris administration and local governance. She expressed that “The scenes in Los Angeles are the direct result of the Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies made worse by out of touch Sacramento policies & soft on crime prosecutors.” Kim emphasized her support for law enforcement over crime and chaos.
Later on June 8, 2025, she tweeted about maintaining civility during protests. Kim remarked that while peaceful protests are a right, “crime, hate, and violence are unacceptable and unAmerican.”
Young Kim has been serving in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. Before this role, she was a member of the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962, she currently resides in La Habra and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
