Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared several posts on her social media platform addressing topics ranging from honoring veterans to state budget concerns.
On March 29, 2026, Kim marked Vietnam Veterans Day by expressing gratitude to those who served in the Vietnam War. She wrote, “Honored to join Americans in thanking those who fought in Vietnam as we observe Vietnam Veterans Day. Your courage & sacrifice defended the freedoms and ideals that make America great. You answered the call & I am forever grateful.”
Addressing issues of government spending and fraud prevention on March 31, 2026, Kim stated, “Despite what @CAgovernor would have you believe, the movement to stop fraud is not a Republican gotcha tactic. It’s good government that respects taxpayer dollars & puts vulnerable mothers, children, veterans, seniors, & Americans FIRST.”
Later that same day, she commented on California’s fiscal challenges and leadership by posting: “Spot on. Newsom’s spin won’t fix CA’s $17.7B deficit & failures. I am fighting to save our Golden State & restore the American Dream right here at home.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Gil Cisneros. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
