Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, recently highlighted several issues and initiatives on her social media account. On March 12, 2026, Kim announced funding for transportation improvements in Southern California. She also marked K-9 Veterans Day and commented on ongoing political disputes affecting airport security operations.
On March 12, Kim posted: “Proud to have secured $3M for SR-91 corridor improvements to deliver much-needed traffic relief in Orange & Riverside Counties. As a results-driven leader that puts our workers and families first, I’ll always help our community get where it’s going!” The announcement refers to the State Route 91 corridor, a major transportation route connecting Orange and Riverside counties.
The following day, she recognized the contributions of service animals: “Today is K-9 Veterans Day! These brave four-legged heroes serve alongside our military & law enforcement, saving lives every day and keeping us safe.”
Later on March 13, Kim addressed travel disruptions at airports due to funding disagreements in Congress: “This is unacceptable — lines out the door, missed flights, & chaos because Democrats want to play political games with DHS funding. Our TSA officers deserve their pay, & Americans deserve safe, smooth travel. Politicians need to get out of the way & put America’s safety first.”
Kim has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after defeating Gil Cisneros and previously represented her community in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
