Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, addressed several national and international issues in a series of tweets posted between December 11 and December 14, 2025.
On December 11, Kim advocated for legislative action on cryptocurrency regulation. She wrote, “Crypto has countless applications from wealth creation to secure payments. Americans deserve the market certainty and consumer protections that the CLARITY Act provides. The Senate needs to pass CLARITY now.”
In response to an attack in Syria on December 14, Kim expressed support for American troops and condemned terrorism. She stated, “Praying for our troops after today’s ISIS attack in Syria, & for the families grieving this unimaginable loss. We must show resolve against any barbaric act of terrorism & hold those responsible accountable.”
Later that same day, Kim commented on violence targeting Jewish Australians during Hanukkah celebrations. She posted, “Truly horrified over the disgusting terrorist attack targeting Jewish Australians celebrating the first night of Hanukkah. My deepest condolences go out to the victims’ families and the entire Jewish community. Antisemitism has no place in the world, and we must do more to end”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985.
