Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district since 2021, expressed her positions on congressional reforms, frontline worker compensation, and tax relief for families in a series of posts on March 31, 2026.

In one post from that day, Kim stated her support for legislative changes regarding congressional conduct: “Americans deserve real representation that fights for their best interest—not the self-interests of career politicians. That’s why I support term limits & BANNING members of Congress from trading stocks. Let’s restore Americans faith in Congress and pass these bills.” (March 31, 2026)

Later the same day, Kim addressed concerns about federal workers during a government shutdown: “TSA officers, Coast Guardsmen, & frontline heroes deserve to be paid for their work. Families shouldn’t go without because Democrats want to play political games. We need to reopen DHS and give certainty to those working on the frontlines to keep us safe.” (March 31, 2026)

Kim also highlighted recent tax policy changes benefiting American workers: “Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, Americans will keep more of their money than EVER this tax season: No Tax on Tips No Tax on Overtime No Tax on Social Security I was proud to support this vital legislation & will keep fighting for American families.” (March 31, 2026)

Young Kim began serving in Congress after replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently resides in La Habra. Kim earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1985.
