Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, has recently voiced criticism of state policies and ongoing concerns in healthcare and fraud through a series of posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account.
On March 10, 2026, Kim commented on the business environment in California under Governor Gavin Newsom, stating, “Newsom’s game of red tape roulette is ruining California & driving businesses out left & right. After nearly 50 years in Orange County, Yamaha voted with its feet. They’re hardly the first & won’t be the last to leave if things don’t change in Sacramento.”
Later that same day, Kim highlighted her efforts to address healthcare issues by bringing together local partners: “Great to gather Orange County partners at our healthcare advisory meeting. I’m fighting to boost our nursing workforce, lower premiums, & make healthcare more affordable for hardworking Americans. I’ll keep working with @POTUS to bring healthcare costs down.”
On March 11, 2026, she raised concerns about alleged fraud in the state’s hospice industry: “California is ground ZERO for fraud. 89 hospices in 1 building seems too outrageous to be real in some places, but not in Newsom’s California. Looking forward to having @JDVance take the lead to stop this madness!”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District since defeating Gil Cisneros in the 2020 election and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1985.
