Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, posted a series of statements on March 26, 2026, criticizing Governor Gavin Newsom and advocating for congressional term limits.
In her first post at 21:09 UTC, Kim addressed Governor Newsom directly: “Care to explain, @GavinNewsom? https://t.co/Bcg9Airoer”.
Shortly after, at 21:15 UTC, she expanded on her concerns regarding the state’s economic climate under Newsom’s leadership: “California companies are fleeing under Newsom’s watch, & with them the jobs, innovation, & opportunities we need. This is not the California I know & love, & I won’t stand by as it’s run into the ground. I’ll keep fighting to restore commonsense & save our Golden State.”
Later that evening at 22:00 UTC, Kim shifted focus to federal policy issues: “Americans want public servants, not career politicians. Congress should not be taxpayer-funded retirement. I am proud to support H.J.Res.12 to establish term limits for members of congress & will keep fighting to drain the swamp.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently resides in La Habra. Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985.
