Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, shared several updates on her official social media account on March 25, 2026, addressing issues ranging from border security to local economic initiatives and tax policy.
In her first post of the day, Kim commented on national border policy: “For years Joe Biden flung our borders open for fentanyl & human trafficking & allowed millions to come into our country unvetted. Now that @POTUS has secured our nation & America’s borders mean something again, Democrats want to put all that at risk. This is ludicrous. Fund DHS” (March 25, 2026).
Later, Kim highlighted a meeting with a local business focused on nuclear energy: “Great meeting with IMI plc, a Rancho Santa Margarita based company helping power the future of nuclear energy. Advanced nuclear means lower costs, stronger security, & good-paying jobs right here at home.” (March 25, 2026).
In another post the same day, she addressed tax policy affecting Californians: “California families know how to spend their own money better than Washington does. I’m proud to have fought for & secured a 4X INCREASE in the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction so hardworking Californians can keep more of what they earn & thrive right here in our community.” (March 25, 2026).
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she holds a BBA from the University of Southern California.
