Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, highlighted her recent efforts and community engagements in a series of posts on August 19, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Kim addressed the importance of critical minerals to national infrastructure and security. She stated, “Critical minerals power phones & cars connecting our communities & defense systems protecting our national security. I’m working with @AmiBeraCA06 to grow our critical minerals supply chain & ensure the CCP doesn’t hold the keys to our energy future.” (August 19, 2025).

Later that day, Kim recognized local healthcare providers in Orange County. She wrote, “Lestonnac Clinic is a pillar of our Orange community, providing vision, dental, & medical care to our most vulnerable neighbors – including nearly 7,500 visits to date this year. I appreciate their team updating me on their important work.” (August 19, 2025).

Kim also participated in an event focused on economic policy with local business leaders. In her third post she said, “I joined @OC_Biz_Council Legislative Day to discuss my work in Congress to boost local economies, lower taxes, & give small businesses the certainty they need to grow. I’ll keep fighting for policies that help our businesses, workers, & families thrive.” (August 19, 2025).

Young Kim has served as a member of Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60,[source] she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.[source]
