Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district, has been vocal on several issues through her recent social media posts. She shared her perspectives on topics ranging from healthcare costs to energy policies.
On June 5, 2025, Young Kim expressed her commitment to addressing the financial burdens associated with starting a family. In her post, she stated, “Americans shouldn’t have to choose between starting a family & being strapped in debt. I’m proud to help lead the charge to cut childbirth cost-sharing fees & ensure women, babies, & families receive the care they deserve – without astronomical costs.”
In another post dated June 6, 2025, Kim addressed concerns about energy policy changes in California. She criticized the ban on gas-powered appliances by saying it exacerbates issues with the electric grid and increases costs for consumers and small businesses. She remarked that this mandate is not suitable for Californians who already face high energy prices: “Banning gas powered appliances worsens our unreliable electric grid & drives up costs for small businesses & consumers already struggling to make ends meet. This mandate is out of touch for Californians who pay some of the highest energy prices in the country.”
