Young Kim, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 40th district since 2021, addressed several national and international issues in a series of posts on her social media account between September 26 and September 27, 2025.
On September 26, Kim wrote about her participation at the United Nations: “I was honored to represent the United States at the 60th session of the UN General Assembly.
From meetings and discussions, one thing is clear: the United States must lead with strength. Xi Jinping, Kim Jong Un, & the growing Unholy Alliance are working relentlessly to overturn https://t.co/v8HFiVeHL9“
Addressing domestic concerns on September 27, she commented on potential government shutdowns: “Bottom line: government shutdowns hurt the American people.
I urge my colleagues across the aisle to stop the political games & put the American people first.”
Later that day, Kim highlighted economic policy priorities following a meeting with local business leaders: “From ending taxes on tips & overtime to upgrading infrastructure, I’m fighting for policies that help workers pay the bills & small businesses grow.
Grateful to hear from Corona Chamber leaders on local priorities & how I can keep delivering results in Congress. https://t.co/9WbPhR6tq8“
Kim has been serving in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. She previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she earned her BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
