Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, has recently shared updates on her legislative initiatives and constituent services through a series of posts on social media.
On November 18, 2025, Kim wrote, “Our first responders deserve every tool available to save lives, protect property, & keep our communities safe. I introduced a bill to allow private entities to partner with federal agencies so proven wildfire technologies can get on the ground faster.”
The following day, November 19, she highlighted her efforts to support local financial institutions in a post referencing a recent committee hearing: “At yesterday’s @FinancialCmte hearing, I highlighted my Community Bank LIFT Act. Just a small fix to regulations can free up hundreds of local banks to lend more & reinvest in Main Street. I’ll keep fighting to free community banks from Washington red tape.”
Later that same day, Kim emphasized her office’s commitment to constituent services: “Your money matters. I’m proud to have helped return over $32 million to constituents, & will keep fighting to make sure taxpayers get the service they deserve. Need help with a federal agency? We’re here to serve you always!”
Kim has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985.
