Young Kim, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing California’s 40th district, has been active on social media with a series of tweets addressing her ongoing efforts and community engagements. She took office in 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016.
On July 3, 2025, Young Kim tweeted about her commitment to affordability and maintaining the American Dream for future generations. In her tweet, she stated: “I will continue to fight to make life more affordable & keep the American Dream alive for future generations. This big, beautiful bill delivers great wins for Southern Californians.”
The following day, July 4, Kim expressed her patriotic sentiments while celebrating Independence Day with constituents from CA-40. She wrote: “Happy Independence Day, CA-40! I hope everyone has a safe and FUN day celebrating 249 years of U-S-A I’m proud and grateful to be an American, ALWAYS!”
On July 5, Kim shared her experience attending a local event in Mission Viejo during the Fourth of July celebrations. Her tweet read: “So fun to join our @MissionViejoCA 4th of July Spectacular! Appreciate our community bringing us together. “
Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, Young Kim is a University of Southern California alumna who graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
