Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting her legislative priorities and support for families and law enforcement in Southern California.
On January 21, 2026, Kim stated, “Families deserve to feel safe in their homes. I’ll always fight to ensure our law enforcement has the resources, tools, & backing they need to do their jobs & keep our communities safe.”
The following day, she addressed economic concerns for working families by posting, “Hard work should pay off. When families can afford a home, put food on the table, & build a future for themselves, our communities thrive. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cut, Americans can keep more of what they earn, get ahead & build the life they’ve worked for.” This statement referenced recent tax policy aimed at providing financial relief to American households.
Later that evening on January 22, Kim reiterated her stance on public safety: “Public safety is the cornerstone of our communities. I am committed to cracking down on crime, backing our men and women in blue, & keeping our communities across Southern California safe & secure.”
Young Kim has represented California’s 40th District in Congress since 2021 after replacing Gil Cisneros and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently residing in La Habra at age 60, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
