Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, reflected on her legislative achievements and outlined her priorities for the new year in a series of posts on social media between January 1 and January 2, 2026.
On January 1, Kim highlighted key accomplishments from the previous year, stating: ” My 2025 Wrapped is in: Massive tax hikes stopped. $32M+ returned to constituents. The American Dream, on repeat. I am honored to serve Orange, San Bernardino, & Riverside Counties. Forever Young. Always fighting for you.”
Later that day, she shared her intentions for the coming year: “As we welcome 2026, I’m grateful for the privilege of serving our community & this great country. This year, I’ll keep fighting to make life more affordable, safer, & secure in Southern California. Happy New Year!” (January 1).
On January 2, Kim commented on economic systems and values: “The “warmth of collectivism” is how you end up with empty shelves, poverty, & misery. The American Dream rewards hard work, drives creativity, & is how everyday Americans get ahead & change the world. The choice is clear.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th District in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and currently resides in La Habra at age 60. Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985.
