On October 20, 2025, Kim expressed support for recent developments in the U.S.-Australia relationship, writing: “Thrilled by this historic $3B+ investment in critical minerals projects with Australia & reaffirmation of the AUKUS partnership! The time is now to secure supply chains, build up the U.S. submarine industrial base, unleash U.S. jobs, & cut Chinese dependence.”
Later that day, she acknowledged the Diwali festival and her local constituents: ” Wishing a joyful Diwali to all who celebrate! Proud to represent a vibrant Indian American community here in Southern California & always an honor to celebrate the festival of lights.” This reflects her engagement with the diverse communities in Southern California.
On October 21, 2025, Kim commented on the ongoing government shutdown and its political implications. She posted: “If anyone’s wondering why we’re on day 21 of the government shutdown, look no further than Chuck Schumer’s own words. ‘Every day gets better for us.’ Washington Democrats think each day of this shutdown works in their favor. They’re wrong. It just hurts everyday Americans.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
