Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, recently shared a series of updates on her legislative activities and policy priorities through social media posts between August 30 and September 1, 2025.
On August 30, Kim highlighted her engagement with local leaders: “Enjoyed meeting bright & early with our mayors to share legislative wins over coffee & breakfast! From increasing the SALT Cap 300% to delivering vital tax relief for working families, I’ll keep working around the clock to deliver real results for our communities.”
Addressing the ongoing opioid crisis on International Overdose Awareness Day, Kim posted on August 31: “Tens of thousands of Americans are ripped from our communities each year by a scourge of fentanyl and addiction. This International Overdose Awareness Day, I remain committed to stopping the flow of deadly drugs into our neighborhoods & preventing more of this senseless loss.”
Emphasizing her approach to governance, Kim stated on September 1: “Bipartisanship isn’t a bad word. In fact, it’s how we get things done. I’m proud to work across the aisle & break through the gridlock in Washington. I will always fight to drive real results for the American people.”
Kim has represented California’s 40th district in Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra, she earned a BBA from the University of Southern California in 1985.
