Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, shared updates on her work and personal story in a series of posts on April 14, 2026.
In one post, Kim addressed border security issues: “Our border is the first line of defense for American families. We must continue to crack down on illegal crossings, cartels, & fentanyl trafficking while giving Border Patrol the tools they need.” (April 14, 2026).
She also reflected on her personal journey and current role in Congress: “I came to America as a child for a better life. Today, I’m presiding over the House floor & have the great honor of fighting to drain the swamp and put America First.” (April 14, 2026).
Highlighting her legislative activities, Kim noted a recent meeting with local authorities: “Had a Productive meeting with the March Joint Powers Authority & March Inland Port Airport Authority delegation! I am fighting in Congress to secure the resources and support needed to strengthen our military installations & boost jobs in the Inland Empire.” (April 14, 2026).
Kim has represented California’s 40th district since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021. She previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and now residing in La Habra at age 60, Kim graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
