Young Kim, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district since 2021, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account highlighting her legislative priorities and support for law enforcement.
On January 20, 2026, Kim wrote about border security measures during the Trump administration: “President Trump does what he says at the border. 90% decrease in illegal crossings 47,885 illegal aliens with assault charges deported Hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal drugs seized The numbers speak for themselves — & Americans are safer for it.”
The following day, she addressed public safety and community well-being: “Strong communities start with safety. I’m fighting for commonsense solutions that back our law enforcement, hold criminals accountable, & uphold the rule of law across our communities.” This statement was posted on January 21, 2026.
Later that same day, Kim commented on fiscal policy and tax reform efforts: “You work hard. Washington shouldn’t be cashing in on your paycheck. I was proud to advance the One Big Beautiful Bill to cut taxes, rein in wasteful spending, & make life more affordable for our community.”
Kim has served as a member of Congress since replacing Gil Cisneros in 2021 and previously held office in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea in 1962 and residing in La Habra, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BBA in 1985.
