Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 40th district, recently shared updates on her activities in the Tustin and canyon communities through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 19, 2025, Kim posted about her attendance at a local event: “So fun to catch up with our canyon community at the 19th Annual Silverado Summer Concert Series! Amazing music & even better company. https://t.co/xcvspWFWkv”

The following day, she highlighted her participation in an event marking a significant milestone for Social Security: “I was honored to join @AARP in Tustin to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Social Security. California is home to 6.3 million recipients of Social Security benefits – the most of any state in the nation.

I’m fighting hard in Congress to protect & strengthen key programs like https://t.co/CMrCGO9JGh” (August 20, 2025).

Later that same day, Kim noted her visit to a longstanding local business: “Roma D’Italia has served authentic Italian food & family tradition in our Tustin community since 1961.

Great to meet with the team, share my work to preserve the 199A deduction & increase the SALT cap, & discuss how we can keep delivering big wins for small businesses in https://t.co/wGJiSYPPQd” (August 20, 2025).

Kim has represented California’s 40th district since replacing Gil Cisneros in Congress in 2021 and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Born in Incheon, South Korea, she is currently based in La Habra and holds a BBA from the University of Southern California.
